Briana Engelbert Vogt

Briana Engelbert Vogt enjoys sharing her passion for music with whomever she meets. Hailing from Hammond, Indiana, Briana received her Bachelor of Music Education degree at Tennessee Tech University, where she studied with the illustrious R. Winston Morris and met her husband/stand partner, Austin Vogt.  She then traveled through India, Paris, England, and Amsterdam, where she learned about diverse music cultures, taught masterclasses, and studied with the euphonium virtuoso, Steven Mead. While completing the Master of Music and Master of Music Education degrees from Indiana University, Briana was under the tutelage of the famed Dan Perantoni.  At Indiana University, Mrs. V taught at the collegiate level as the Associate Instructor of Brass Instrument Techniques and co-taught the Lab Band at IU.

As a euphoniumist, Briana has performed in Carnegie Hall twice and has performed solo works with multiple ensembles: IU Wind Ensemble (brass concerto competition winner), TTU Tuba Ensemble (resulting in a Carnegie Hall tour, and the published recording - Evolutions), TTU Wind Ensemble, and Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps.  Mrs. Vogt was a member of the highly acclaimed Marian Catholic High School Band and marched for six years as part of the team that brought the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps back into Div. I and DCI Finals. As an avid chamber musician, Briana has performed at regional and international conferences as a member of various groups, including: guest ensemble at the 45th International Tuba and Euphonium Conference, winner of NERTEC 2015 quartet competition, winner of SERTEC 2013 quartet competition, winner of 2010 DCI ensemble competition.  Briana currently plays professionally as the Solo Euphoniumist with the Southern Stars Brass Band; Mrs. V also enjoys playing with community ensembles on euphonium and tuba, and trombone with the Music City Brass Ensemble.

Mrs. Vogt is a member of the National Association for Music Education and the International Tuba Euphonium Association; she credits her early interest in education to her mentors, Greg Bimm, Bobby Lambert, and Kristen Engelbert.  Briana is excited to work with the members of The Cadets, in hopes of invigorating the organization through an informative and holistic curriculum, compassionate mindset, and incredibly high standards. Briana enjoys camping/hiking with her husband and dog, and eating all of the pizza.
