Mark Metrinko

Originally from Holbrook, New York, Mark Metrinko marched in The Cadets of Bergen County in 1999 as a member of the last Cadets soprano section.  He went on to perform with Blast!, Inc. for three separate productions from 2002 to 2004: “Blast2: Shockwave” in Disney’s EPCOT; “Blast!” National Tour and first Japan Tour; and “Cyberjam” in London’s West End.  d

After his run with Blast!, Mark completed his Bachelor’s in Instrumental Music Education from George Mason University.  While there, he studied with Dr. Dennis Edelbrock (trumpet), Mr. Kenny Rittenhouse (jazz trumpet), and Mr. Anthony Maiello (conducting).  Currently, he is seeking a Master’s in Business Administration from Liberty University.

In 2005, Mark enlisted in the US Army to serve as a Bugle Instrumentalist with The US Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps.  As the Army’s premier marching musical organization, The Old Guard supports ceremonials and special events around the National Capital region, as well as abroad.  As a member of the Corps, Mark has performed for three Presidents, the Queen of England, Pope Francis, and countless foreign dignitaries, veterans, and families across the US.  He served as the corps Drum Major for four years, and is now the Bugle Group Leader.

Mark lives in Springfield, Virginia with his amazing wife Brooke, who is a fifer in the Fife and Drum Corps, fitness professional, and all-around awesome human being!  They have two young daughters, Adelyn and Eliana. 2020 Cadets will be Mark’s first year instructing a drum corps, and he is very excited to be a part of the program! Holy Name!
